We can thank many cultures for showing us the way to fabulous new foods and restaurant concepts.
In Japan, there’s a whole culinary heritage around noodles, that few Americans have known. A couple of entrepreneurs came to us to help them introduce this Japanese noodle cuisine, first to Seattle. We were asked to help create the entire experience for the restaurant guest.
It started with the name. There’s a popular term in Japan’s pop culture–“my boom”–which means “the thing I am currently obsessed with.”
Hence, Boom Noodle.
We designed the logo, the imagery, and the complete restaurant environment. Rooted in authentic Japanese culture, the concept plays on the juxtaposition of modern and nature.
The space suggests community, a place for social gatherings, as guests enjoy communal tables, and surroundings that are telling of “slow life.”
